Dr. Mario Tenore is registered with the association of chartered accountants and accounting auditor.

He holds a Ph.D. in Tax Law (cum laude) from the Second University of Naples with a thesis on "Taxation of Cross-Border Dividends in Europe" which was awarded the European Doctoral Tax Thesis Award promoted by the European Association of Tax Law Professors and the European Commission (Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union).

He holds an advanced LL.M. (cum laude) in International Tax Law from the Leiden University and an LL.M. on procedural tax law from the Università Suor Orsola Benincasa in Naples.

He has over 15 years’ experience in Italian and international tax law. His core area of practice are private clients, in particular taxation of high-net-worth individuals, family wealth management, succession planning and trust taxation, stock option plans and incentive schemes (carried interest). He also has a wide expertise on tax related matters in the entertainment industry. He has advised sports clubs and elite international athletes (including footballers, F1 and Moto GP drivers) on tax issues relating to international relocations as well on the tax consequences of sponsorship and image rights agreements.

He is the author of more than fifty articles and contributions on international taxation issues, double taxation conventions and EU tax law (including State aid). He is a visiting lecturer at the LL.M. Programme of the University of Amsterdam and is often invited as a speaker at seminars and conferences on national and international tax issues.
