Prof. Dr. Andrés Báez Moreno

Prof. Dr. Andrés Báez-Moreno is an Associate Professor of Tax Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid since 2011. He is also a Lawyer at Madrid Bar with over 15 years experience.
He holds a Ph.D. in Tax Law (cum laude) from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2005) with a thesis on “Accounting Rules and Corporate Taxation” and an advanced LL.M. in Public Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2002).
His areas of expertise are domestic Company taxation and international taxation both of companies and individuals, fields in which he has published three books and more than fifty articles and contributions in (mostly peer reviewed) periodicals and collective books published in Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.
In recent times and in relation to research, he has received the Research Excellence Award for Young Researchers (under 45) granted by the Banco de Santander-Airbus Group (2020) and the 8th IBFD Frans Vanistendael Award (2022).
As a lecturer, he regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Spain and abroad, particularly on subjects related to international taxation, corporate taxation and accounting law.
He regularly acts as an expert witness before the Spanish tax authorities and courts, providing legal opinions on Spanish and international corporate taxation. In recent years he has also specialized in the international taxation of individuals.
